Man in DC taken into custody for indecent exposure towards a woman

According to reports, a tragic incident occurred on Saturday, October 7, 2023, around 1:25 p.m., on the 5500 block of 7th Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C. A man was fatally shot, leading to the launching of an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch. The authorities are working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered a male individual who had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, medical intervention was unsuccessful, and the victim, identified as Alonzo Jessie Atkins, a Northwest D.C. resident aged 36, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As part of their relentless pursuit to solve all homicides in the District of Columbia, the Metropolitan Police Department is now offering a generous reward of $25,000 for any valuable information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those behind the homicide. This move underscores their unwavering commitment to ensure that justice is served and that perpetrators of such heinous crimes face the full force of the law.
