Man found dead on subway in Brooklyn: NYPD

NYPD reports discovery of a deceased man on a Brooklyn subway

According to the police, a man was discovered deceased on Monday morning beneath a subway train in Brooklyn.

At approximately 6:27 a.m., emergency responders were notified of an incident at the Rockaway Avenue subway station in Brownsville. Upon arrival, authorities found a man under a northbound 4 train. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead only 10 minutes later. Police are investigating the incident.

It is unclear to the NYPD how the man made his way onto the tracks, but they have ruled out any potential criminal activity. At this time, the man’s identity remains a mystery.

Service disruptions on the 3 line occurred early in the morning due to the incident. The line usually runs to Rockaway Avenue, but it had to stop and turn around at Crown Heights-Utica Avenue instead.

The MTA announced that service had resumed between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue by 8:15 a.m.

Riders should anticipate possible delays on the 3 and 4 trains during their morning commute, according to the agency’s warning.

Last week, authorities discovered the body of a 19-year-old man between the cars of an E train in Queens. Similarly, no criminal activity was suspected in this case either.
