NYPD requires uniform reporting for all officers after ex-Hamas leader calls for Global Protests.
According to The Post, in preparation for potential unrest following a call by the former leader of Hamas to stage global demonstrations in support of Palestinians, the NYPD has issued an order for all officers to report in uniform starting Friday. This move is aimed at maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the face of potential unrest.
A memo was sent out to all members of the NYPD stating that they must wear the uniform of the day and be ready for deployment, regardless of rank or position. This directive applies to all uniformed personnel and must be strictly adhered to.
According to the memo, law enforcement officials will not be given any exemptions or alterations to the order, and it will remain in effect until further notice.
As per the latest directive, Khaled Meshaal, the former chief of Hamas from 2004 to 2017, has urged the Islamic world to hold protests on Friday. This call to action has resulted in the issuance of the directive.
As per an internal memo, the NYPD is strengthening security measures at all of its 77 police precincts. The memo states that additional police officers will be assigned to monitor the entryways and parking areas of the stationhouses.
In preparation for potential chaos, the department established its Joint Operations Center (JOC) at its Manhattan headquarters. This was done as a precautionary measure to ensure that the department is ready to respond to any situation that might arise.
According to a memo, several agencies, such as the Sanitation Department, the Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority, and the FDNY, will have to notify the JOC immediately if they come across any incidents related to this event from Thursday to Sunday.
Meshaal reached out amidst the ongoing Israeli retaliation against the Gaza Strip, which was triggered by the brutal and unexpected assault launched by Hamas over the weekend, as reported by the New York Post.
According to reports, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in a devastating loss of life. The death toll has surpassed 1,200, with 22 of those killed being Americans. The Hamas terrorists have been responsible for the deaths in Israel, while Israeli airstrikes have caused the loss of lives in Gaza. The casualties on both sides of the conflict are a tragic reminder of the toll that violence and war can take on innocent civilians.
