Woman from New York Drives at 100 Miles Per Hour While Evading Police Following $800 Barbie Heist
In New York, a woman was apprehended by the police when she attempted to flee after pilfering over $800 worth of Barbie dolls from a Walmart.
On November 28th, Emoni Thompson hastily exited a Walmart Supercenter in Lockport, clutching several Barbie dolls in her hands. She swiftly made her way to a waiting 2016 Ford Escape and drove off, leaving onlookers in awe of her audacious act.
According to the New York State Police, officers successfully tracked down Thompson as she was sitting in her car. As they tried to apprehend her by activating their emergency lights, the 26-year-old made a desperate attempt to flee, reaching speeds of over 100 mph.
The officers released Thompson temporarily due to safety concerns. However, her escape from the police was short-lived as authorities managed to track her down in Buffalo and apprehend her for the large-scale theft of Barbies.
Thompson faced charges of larceny, fleeing from an officer, and several traffic offenses. An appearance ticket was issued to her for the Town of Lockport Court in December 2023.
