Woman hits 88-year-old stranger in head with heavy bag in unprovoked Manhattan street attack
According to the authorities, an elderly man was brutally attacked by a woman on a street in Manhattan. The attacker, who was carrying a heavy bag, struck the 88-year-old man on the head without any apparent reason. The police are investigating the incident and trying to identify the perpetrator.
Police say the woman approached the victim from behind on 10th Avenue near W. 26th Street at 8:15 a.m. on September 10 and used a blunt object concealed in a bag to attack the victim.
According to the authorities, she fled towards uptown on 10th Ave.
According to authorities, the injured individual was transported to Lenox Health Greenwich Village by medical personnel and is reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities have made public a surveillance video of the perpetrator and are seeking the assistance of the community in identifying her and locating her whereabouts.
