Four individuals accused with shooting death of man found on Texas City highway
Four individuals have been accused of killing a man during the Labor Day weekend in Texas City.
According to the Texas City police department, reports of gunfire prompted officers to respond to the 1700 block of Highway 146 on the southbound feeder road at around 4:42 p.m. on Sunday, September 3rd.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the medical professionals declared him deceased.
An affidavit from the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office revealed that a witness was present during the shooting incident. As per the document, there was someone who saw the incident take place.
According to reports, he was left stranded in a room at the Executive Inn and Suites located in southeast Houston and woke up disoriented, with no recollection of his whereabouts.
According to the affidavit, detectives visited Alvarez’s residence to inform his wife about the tragic incident upon discovering his body.
According to reports, Aaron Rodriguez was captured on a Ring camera picking up Alvarez from her house.
According to the affidavit, a man named Mardo Palma was seated in the passenger seat.
During the investigation, Palma disclosed that there was an argument between Rodriguez and Alvarez, which eventually led to Alvarez firing a shot out of the window.
According to Palma, he was restrained and had his vision obstructed by Rodriguez and two women.
As captured on the surveillance footage of the Executive Inn and Suites, Palma was seen being assisted into a room by Aaron Rodriguez, Tara Rodriguez, Cassie Lopez, and another individual.
According to the affidavit, it is noted that everyone except Palma is observed exiting the room.
According to the report, Palma was said to have woken up in the hotel room. She immediately proceeded to the hospital to give investigators a detailed account of the events.
During the investigation, it was uncovered that two phones had been discarded in the Executive Inn and Suites dumpster. Upon further examination, authorities determined that one of the phones belonged to the victim while the other was linked to Palma. Both phones were found to be irreparably damaged.
After a thorough investigation, the authorities identified the culprits responsible for the demise of Alvarez. All four suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. They were charged with the following offences and booked into jail accordingly:
According to the Texas City Police Department, Aaron and Tara Rodriguez are in custody at the Galveston County Jail.
Lopez and Hernandez are currently being held in different county jails – Lopez in Brazoria County Jail and Hernandez in Harris County Jail. However, the authorities have confirmed that they will eventually be transferred to Galveston.
