Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer’s Murder: Suspect Arrested
On September 18th, KNN reported that a man, aged 29, was apprehended for the murder of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer. This came after several deterrents were fired into a residence located on Barrinson Street in Palmdale.
Shortly after 5 a.m. on Monday, the individual surrendered to the armed sheriff’s deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau.
During a press conference held at 10:30 a.m., Sheriff Luna reported that the suspect had barricaded himself in the house for several hours before ultimately surrendering and being taken into custody.
During the arrest in the early morning, Luna reported that investigators found several firearms at the scene. The car found at the location matched the description of an older Toyota Corolla.
According to Luna, the individual responsible for the shooting is Kevin Salazar, a 29-year-old resident of Palmdale. Although the motive behind the incident remains unclear, Luna assured that the investigation is underway and the department is determined to uncover the truth.
According to Luna, the arrest of Salazar was made possible by the community’s valuable tips.
Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Deputy Clinkunbroomer met a tragic fate while leaving the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at East Avenue Q and Sierra Highway. He was in his marked patrol vehicle at the time of the incident.
During a press conference on Saturday evening, Sheriff Luna reported that a deputy had been found by a kind-hearted citizen who promptly contacted the Palmdale station personnel.
After being transported by LASD personnel to Antelope Valley Medical Center, the deputy unfortunately passed away despite efforts to save his life.
