Gouverneur man allegedly stole over $6,000 from his employer
A man from Gouverneur, aged 46, has been accused of stealing money from his employer and is now facing felony charges.
On September 28, Frank Daniels was arrested by village police on charges of third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both of which are felonies.
Police have reported that M & M Heating & AC of Gouverneur LLC’s office manager was Daniels.
From March 24 to July 31, Daniels purportedly carried out a sequence of unapproved withdrawals, amounting to $6,678.78, from the bank account of the business. He stands accused of attempting to conceal his actions by falsifying entries in the company’s records.
After being arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court, Daniels was granted release under the watchful eye of probation officers.
According to the company’s statement, Daniels is no longer employed there.
