Sound of gunfire leads to three people taken into custody in Michigan City

Three individuals arrested in Michigan City after sound of gunfire reported

Three individuals were apprehended by authorities after reports of gunshots were heard. The charges filed against them include possession of weapons and marijuana.

On the night of September 20th, the authorities in Michigan City followed the sound of gunshots to a car driving down Pleasant Avenue.

Law enforcement deployed a trained K9 to detect potential drugs after halting the car.

Upon inspecting the car, authorities discovered a firearm and marijuana.

Division Washington, aged 20, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with possessing marijuana. Furthermore, a 16-year-old boy who was present in the car has also been charged with the control of marijuana and a handgun. Additionally, a 13-year-old boy in the vehicle was charged with possession of marijuana.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers were granted a search warrant for a residence in the 500 block of Pleasant Avenue. Upon searching, they discovered a loaded .45-calibre handgun along with its magazine.
