Meet the 8-year-old who is keeping Indiana residents warm
Tables were set up outside Central Library in Indianapolis on Tuesday, providing a warm meal, blankets, and other essentials to individuals experiencing homelessness.
“I’ve faced numerous challenges during my time on the streets,” shared Candice Webb, who is currently experiencing homelessness.
Webb has been living without a home for the past four years.
According to Webb, knowing that someone cares about us is incredibly important. It makes a significant difference because, in this situation, we often feel abandoned and alone.
Malik’s blankets for the homeless, an initiative led by 8-year-old Malik Ford, is organizing the event. According to Ford, it all began as a school project.
Ford expressed his aspiration to assist in feeding the homeless when he grows up.
Continuing his efforts a year later, he received assistance on Tuesday from Grant Stuard, a Colts linebacker and special teams ace.
Stuard expressed his admiration for the act, stating, “I am amazed by it. It is a testament to his kind-hearted nature and the compassion he holds for people.”
Stuart expressed his desire to become more involved in the community and leverage his platform to support the endeavors of others.
Stuart expressed how grateful he is for what he has, but it also makes him realize the importance of helping others and understanding the root of their problems.
Ford is determined to inspire other young children by showing them that they too can make a difference. In the previous year, he distributed 200 blankets, but this year he has surpassed that number by distributing more than 200 blankets.
Ford explained that he wants to grow up to be a god-fearing man because it is a noble and generous trait.
