Police and sources reported that a friend went to check on a 37-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter after not hearing from them since Friday. To their shock, the friend discovered the bodies inside their New York Avenue home in Little Haiti, Miami, around 4:30 p.m. Such a tragic and unexpected event has left the community in shock and mourning.
As per the sources, the dog was found lying beside them with a bag covering its head.
According to a police source, the scene was ruthless and bloody.
When Steve Schor, a neighbour living downstairs, heard screams, he immediately called 911 for help. The police swiftly responded to the location on Friday morning, but nobody answered the door when they arrived.
As Schor, 38, recounted the harrowing experience, he vividly remembered waking up in bed to the jarring sound of screaming, banging, and dogs whining in distress. He told how the police had knocked on their door but had received no response.
Schor sighed as he walked into his home, taking in the chaotic scene before him. “And then I come home today to all this,” he muttered, clearly frustrated by the mess.
According to sources, authorities are investigating the deaths and considering the possibility of a murder-suicide.
