Motorcycle rider died in an accident in Long Beach.
atal collision between a motorcyclist and a 63-year-old man transpired over the weekend, prompting an investigation by Long Beach police, according to authorities.
Saturday at approximately 5:35 p.m., Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Willow Street and Palo Verde Avenue in response to reports of a collision.
According to an LBPD news release, officers discovered an unconscious adult male motorcyclist at the scene of the collision with the driver of a 2019 Nissan Sentra who was severely injured.
While travelling westbound on Willow Street on a 2021 Harley Davidson, the motorcyclist was involved in a collision with the 63-year-old Nissan and was subsequently ejected from his vehicle. He was transported by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the police, the Nissan driver, a Long Beach resident, was struck by the motorcyclist as he attempted to turn onto Palo Verde without yielding.

Although the 63-year-old remained at the location and assisted law enforcement personnel, speed and distracted driving are being investigated by the authorities as potential contributors to the fatal collision.
The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld pending the L.A. County Department of the Medical Examiner notifying the next of kin.
