NYPD: Brooklyn bodega worker shot for denying robbers’ money
According to police, two robbers attempted to steal money and merchandise from a bodega in Brooklyn last month. The situation turned violent when one of the workers refused to comply with their demands, resulting in the worker being shot.
According to the NYPD, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on September 24th, the suspects entered the store located at 186 Scholes St. and directed a firearm at the employee, who is 28 years old. The suspects demanded cash and merchandise from the employee, and when he declined, they shot him in his right hand.
The hospital provided treatment to the worker who was injured. According to the authorities, the two individuals exited the bodega and were spotted sprinting towards the west side of Scholes Street, eventually entering a NYCHA building located at 128 Lewis Ave.
No items were stolen from the store, and authorities have made no arrests in connection to the incident.
