Bronx day care suspects charged after fentanyl exposure killed toddler, hospitalized 3 others

According to police sources, the day-care center in the Bronx, where one toddler died and three others were hospitalized due to suspected fentanyl exposure, was allegedly being utilized as a front for drug-related activities. The owner of the center was brought to court in connection with the incident.

The family of the affected children spoke out about the tragic incident, which has left them devastated. The authorities are conducting further investigations to uncover the truth behind this appalling situation.

With an unwavering expression, Grei Mendez De Ventura, aged 36 and the owner of Divino Nino Daycare, was escorted out of the 52nd Precinct. Accompanying her was her suspected partner, Caristo Acevedo Brito, aged 41, who resided in the daycare’s basement that was allegedly used for drug-related activities.

Brito tried to shield himself from the media’s prying eyes while he was being escorted out of the precinct. He wore a white baseball cap and kept his head down as he was taken to the Bronx Criminal Court in a separate NYPD vehicle.

According to authorities, Mendez was transported to Lincoln Hospital for a thorough medical assessment and is presently in a stable condition.

Outside the precinct, the suspects, who are facing charges including murder, remained silent in response to questions from reporters.

The arraignment of both suspects is still pending.

According to recent reports, murder, assault, and child endangerment charges have been filed against a pair who are suspected of causing the death of 1-year-old Nicholas Feliz Dominici due to possible fentanyl exposure. The charges were filed on Saturday and the accused individuals are facing serious legal consequences.

Police have reported that three more children, including two 2-year-old boys and the 8-month-old sister of one of them, are currently receiving treatment in the hospital after being exposed to the dangerous drug.

According to sources from law enforcement, it seems that the children were exposed to the drug when it was accidentally cut in the day-care center. Some of the drug particles floated into the air, and the children inhaled them.

According to sources, a manhunt is underway for Ventura’s husband, who resided next door to her and is also wanted in connection with the death of the child. The police are actively searching for him.

According to authorities, police were called to the Kingsbridge child care center at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday following a 911 call. Upon arrival, officers discovered three children who were unresponsive, reportedly due to exposure to fentanyl.

Some of the children received Narcan in an attempt to rescue them.

After the incident, Dominici was immediately taken to Montefiore Medical Center for emergency treatment. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The condition of the two toddlers is a matter of concern. One of the two-year-old boys is currently in critical condition, while the 8-month-old baby girl is in a stable condition. We hope that both children recover quickly and completely.

An acquaintance took the other toddler to BronxCare Health Systems, where medical professionals reported that the child is currently in stable condition.

Apart from being charged with depraved indifference murder, the duo is also facing multiple charges, including manslaughter, reckless endangerment of a child, assault, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
