Long Beach police shot two men in a possible gang-related assault.
Authorities announced on Sunday that two men who sustained gunshot wounds in what is being investigated as a gang-related shooting in Long Beach self-transported to a hospital.
The Long Beach Police Department reported that at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway in response to a report of a victim who had been shot.
“Two adult male victims self-transported to a local hospital after an unknown suspect opened fire on them in the vicinity of Pacific Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway,” a police statement read. “Upon responding to the area, officers discovered casings.”
Unknown were the conditions of the victims of the shooting.
Gang detectives were dispatched to the scene and reportedly gathered evidence, according to the police.
The motive for the shooting was still being investigated.
