Police in New Orleans investigating pedestrian hit by vehicle.
A pedestrian and a New Orleans Police Department officer were involved in a traffic collision that is the subject of an investigation by the NYPD.
It occurred just after 9:20 p.m. at the on-ramp to US 90 East at Barrone Street and Calliope, according to the police.
Initial NOPD reports indicate that while ascending the ramp in a marked unit, an officer was struck by a female pedestrian who had approached the vehicle in front of the unit.
The police report that she was transported to the hospital, where she is in critical condition.
Investigations are currently underway into the accident.
