Woman Arrested for Murdering 66-Year-Old Man During Montgomery Robbery
Montgomery authorities have charged a woman with the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old man over the weekend.
A 24-year-old named Jayln Greene has been accused of committing two counts of capital murder in the death of Rickey Daniel that occurred on Friday night.
At approximately 7:55 p.m. on Friday, both police and fire medics were called to the 4200 block of Sussex Drive in response to a reported shooting. Unfortunately, Daniel was discovered to have sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the moment, there is no information available regarding the specifics of the shooting.
According to Police Major Saba Coleman, the incident that led to Daniel’s demise was a robbery.
Central Alabama Crime Stoppers recently shared photos of a woman captured on CCTV footage inside a convenience store in hopes of identifying her. The woman in the photos was identified as Greene, and the police quickly recognized her as a suspect.
Montgomery police apprehended Greene on Tuesday evening and he was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility at 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday.
Without any bond, she is currently being held in custody.
