Woman from Utica detained for driving car to Buffalo during a ‘test drive’

The New York State Police have arrested a woman from Utica for allegedly stealing a car from an auto dealership under false pretences. She apparently convinced the staff that she was interested in taking the car for a test drive but instead drove off with it.

According to authorities from Richfield Springs, NY, in Otsego County, representatives from the car dealership reported that Theresa Price had expressed interest in test driving the vehicle and taking it to her nearby mechanic for inspection.

According to the authorities, the incident occurred on Thursday. Nevertheless, the dealership asserts that the woman had not yet returned by Friday.

According to reports, Price, who is 48 years old, was notified to the police and was found travelling along I-90 on the NYS Thruway. After several hours, Price was eventually located with the vehicle in Pembroke, NY.

Following his alleged involvement in Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class D felony, Price was apprehended and brought to Richfield Springs. He was then transported to the Otsego County Jail, where he remains in custody.
