Arrest Made in the Murder Case of Pregnant Girlfriend of New Orleans Rapper
An Atlanta, Georgia murder case has led to the arrest of a rapper from New Orleans. According to reports, the victim was his pregnant girlfriend. It has been alleged that he taunted his family and friends on social media while evading the police after the shooting.
Justin Rene Lewis, also known as Mad Muzik Cali, was taken into custody by DeKalb County police officers on Thursday in connection with the killing of his girlfriend, Raesha Heard. On October 11, Lewis allegedly fired multiple shots at Heard while she was carrying groceries from her car and walking in her parents’ driveway. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, witnesses claim that Heard’s eight-year-old son was present during the shooting.
When the shooting occurred, Lewis was in the home with the victim’s relatives. Shortly after, he fled the scene. In the hours following the mother’s tragic death, Lewis posted several Instagram stories while on the run. Shockingly, his posts were flooded with hundreds of comments about the crime, many of which were made without remorse.

Heard’s loved ones and acquaintances are in utter shock and distress following the tragic shooting incident. Her close friends, who fondly remember her as “the life of the party,” shared with the media outlet that her infectious smile and sweet personality were her defining traits.

The police received full cooperation from the investigators and refrained from divulging any additional details about the suspect or his apprehension. Nevertheless, according to Instagram users, the suspect was purportedly linked to the murder of his previous girlfriend in 2017.
Lewis gained popularity on social media before the shooting incident thanks to his unique approach of randomly approaching other rappers. He also started uploading his music on SoundCloud, which further helped him gain recognition.
