The attempted murder of a prisoner at Garner Correctional Institution has been charged.
According to the police, Joe Baltas stabbed two correctional officers with a sharpened toothbrush.
This incident occurred in August.
According to the state police, this assault occurred as Baltas was being released for out-of-cell time.
